has grown exponentially,

the beginning CTI produced
tubing for only one
customer. Now CTI’s
products range from
specialty drinking
straws, to molded plastic
parts, to a number
of custom-designed
applications for plastic
tubing. We’ve
come a long way as

1989
Cleveland Tubing, Inc. is incorporated
and starts production on one production
line.
January
1990
Second production line is added to
produce containment pipe.
June
1992
Third production line is added to produce
corrugated plastic straws.
1992
Pam Wells joins Cleveland Tubing as
a sales representative
February
1993
Fourth production line is added.
June 1993
Respiratory therapy and anesthesia
tubing added as a product line.

1994
Central vacuum system installed in
new facility
May 1994
Cleveland Tubing, Inc. moves into expanded
and upgraded facilities and adds 1
production line.
June
1994
Cathy Boettner joins the company as
sales manager
July 1994
Development of Quality system is begun.
August 1994
Sixth production line is installed.
June 1995
Cathy Boettner is named general manager
October 1996
Cleveland Tubing, Inc. is the first
manufacturer of corrugated plastic
tubing to achieve ISO 9001-1994 Certification

1997
Heinrich Dickhut retires as president
of CTI, Cathy Boettner is named president.

1997
6.78 acres are purchased in industrial
park for new facility

1998
Groundbreaking for new facility is
held.

New cutting technology is installed.
October 1998
Better Business Bureau recognizes Cleveland
Tubing, Inc. with the Torch Award for
Business Ethics

Cleveland Tubing, Inc. moves to new
facility and adds bulk handling capability
and 2 additional production lines,
expanded shipping facilities

Cleveland Tubing, Inc. implements a
manufacturing accounting package which
adds additional elements of scheduling,
inventory control, shipping, bills

Mike Boettner joins Cleveland Tubing
as Engineering/ISO manager

Barcoding implementation begins.

2003
New shelf rack system is installed
to maintain a FIFO inventory system
more effectively

Cleveland Tubing is certified to ISO
9001-2000

InfinityQS® statistical process
control system is implemented—on
line readings begin.

Sold medical tubing business to Global
Med.

Weigh blending and on-line
regrind capabilities are added to all

CTI is certified as a woman owned business
